29.09. Dollar appreciation, fall in Asian stocks

News for today, September 29: European stock markets are expected to open higher on Wednesday, recovering partly from sharp losses in the previous session, while investors remain preoccupied about higher US bond yields.

Dollar hit an 18-month high against the yen in Asian hours and remained steady at a 10-month high after rising overnight, benefitting from the recent surge in US Treasury yields. Asian stocks decreased on Wednesday and are facing their worst quarter since the coronavirus pandemic, while fears of a global slowdown and economic growth in China are pushing equity markets down.

Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority approved the first cryptoasset fund. China Evergrande Group agreed to sell its stake in Shengjing Bank for $ 1.5 billion. The price of Brent crude is $ 77,64 per barrel, WTI — $ 74,58. EUR/USD is at 1.1666, GBP/USD —1.3527, gold is at $ 1,739.61 per ounce.
